Die Sängerin\, Komponistin\, Schriftstellerin und Philosophin stammt aus Ceará im Nordosten Brasiliens und verbindet unterschiedliche Stilrichtungen der brasilianischen Musik\, von Bossa Nova über Samba bis hin zu Forró\, zu einem zeitgenössischen Klangbild zwischen Jazz\, Pop und Weltmusik. \nIn den Liedern ihres aktuellen Albums setzt sich Joelma Marques mit den Auswirkungen von Social Media\, Stress und Arbeitsdruck auf unser Fühlen und Denken auseinander. Ihre Musik nimmt dabei eine reflektierende\, zugleich persönliche Perspektive ein und richtet den Blick auf jene Momente unmittelbarer Wahrnehmung und echter Begegnung\, die im Alltag oft in den Hintergrund treten. \nJoelma Marques hat bislang mehrere Alben veröffentlicht\, darunter „Passos“\, „Tertúlia do Catolé“ und „De nós dois“\, sowie verschiedene literarische Arbeiten.
